Calcium particle film improves sweet potato growth and partitioning

چکیده
ABSTRACT High temperatures may affect the development and yield of sweet potato crop. Technologies such as particle films can mitigate their effects. This study aimed to evaluate effect calcium oxide (CaO) film on remobilization accumulation photoassimilates, well its impact crop yield. The experimental design was randomized blocks, with four replicates per treatment: control, 5, 10 15 % CaO. In general, there an increase for root volume; average weight root; dry fresh roots, branches leaves; growth rates at highest number marketable roots were observed use CaO caused in photoassimilates and, consequently,

Detection of sweet potato virus C, sweet potato virus 2 and sweet potato feathery mottle virus in Portugal.
Field sweet potato plants showing virus-like symptoms, as stunting, leaf distortion, mosaic and chlorosis, were collected in southwest Portugal and tested for the presence of four potyviruses, sweet potato virus C (SPVC), sweet potato virus 2 (SPV2), sweet potato feathery mottle virus (SPFMV), sweet potato virus G (SPVG), and the crinivirus sweet potato chlorotic stunt virus (SPCSV). DsRNA frac...
متن کاملSweet-potato Scurf
The scurf disease of the sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) was first described by Halsted, who published a brief account of it in 1890. To the fungus he gave the name Monilochaetes infuscans, a new genus and species, of which, unfortunately, he gave no technical description. For many years following his pioneer work little or no attention was given to sweet-potato diseases. This very common and in...
متن کاملMadhuram: A Simulation Model for Sweet Potato Growth
In this paper a process model for simulating the growth of sweet potato has been proposed. Vegetative developmental days (VDD) and reproductive developmental days (RDD) were calculated to predict crop phenology. Crop growth was divided into three phases, i.e., the first phase from planting to tuber initiation, the middle phase from tuber initiation to the beginning of tuber bulking and the fina...
متن کاملComplete Genome Sequences of Sweet potato feathery mottle virus and Sweet potato virus G from Brazil
In Brazil, Potyvirus species in sweet potatoes have been detected mostly by serology. Here, we report the complete genome sequences of two Potyvirus species, Sweet potato feathery mottle virus strain (SPFMV-UNB-01) and Sweet potato virus G strain (SPVG-UNB-01).
